CanBus Load Resistors

What are load resistors?

     This is a widely available aftermarket part for use with LED lights. A load resistor slows down or equalises, the rate at which electricity passes through the circuit thereby eliminating problems such as, hyperflashing or flickering of the LED lights. The load resistors should be wired in parallel with the turn signal bulb. It simulates the electrical load of a standard incandescent bulb.
     Another function of load resistors is to eliminate bulb failure error massages when a LED bulb is installed on a vehicle equipped which a CanBus system.
     However because load resistors slow down the rate of electricity flow, some heat maybe generated. To prevent any possible problems caused by this heat generation, it is wise to locate the resistor on a metal surface and away from plastic components or wiring.
