Leather Gear Shift Gaiter Cover Sleeve Fit Skoda Octavia I 1996 - 2004

The gaiter cover is made of high quality leather and well constructed. The only issue I encountered was fitting it because the fitted OEM leatherette gaiter is extremely thin and the quality of the new gaiter leather is much thicker. A very little judicious stretching of the leather got it over the mounting at the base of the gear knob. After a bit of head scratching over how to fit the black plastic gaiter retaining clip given it had to cope with the extra thickness of the leather, I solved it by tightening a hose clip over it (once it was correctly positioned) and tightening it until the locking catch clicked into place. Pull the gaiter well down (it pays not to be too reticent), I fitted the base frame, slid the gear knob back onto the stick, added the circlip then clicked the frame into place and the new leather gaiter looks really classy and a definite improvement.
